Paul's Trip (Day 6) Braunfels Castle

The next day we headed for Braunfels Castle in Hesse, Germany. The last makeover, which defines the castle as it looks today, took place starting in 1880, with the plans of Edwin Oppler. Many works of art adorn the interior walls of the castle, some by the Dutch Master Van Eyck. The sad tale is told that the castle did not stay in the family, as it went to the oldest daughter's husband and is held by his family.
