The Lahn River
The beautiful old town of Weilburg (from the 900's) in Hesse is built upon a rocky hill and almost entirely encircled by the Lahn River. We began at an old cemetery, then walked past a most unusual flohmarkt, and then to the Schloss Weilburg with its beautiful grounds.
These statues were inside a pagoda at the cemetery..
The flohmarkt was inside a little alley locked up behind a chain-link fence.

Wishful thinking, but we headed off in the car rather than on the bike with the wind blowing through our hair.
It was sprinkling on and off during the day, but that always makes for beautiful clouds.
We arrived in Nassau at what we named "Rapunzel's Castle."
We climbed the nearly 100 stairs to the top. "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair." She must have had really long hair.
Back on the road again.
When we got to the Rhine River, the weather had cleared, and we had beautiful blue skies to capture the many castle ruins that dot the hills along the river. We have traveled this road three or four times, and each time it is a delight.
